Under our Constitution
the Management Committee of The Glebe Society Inc. is elected annually
by members of the Society. This Committee is structured to address important
issues affecting Glebe and its residents, ranging from day-to-day matters
that require monitoring, to long-term issues and their affect on our community.
Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month
(see Calendar) usually at
the Old Fire Station in Mitchell Street and any member of The Glebe Society Inc. is welcome to
attend. Please contact the Secretary
in advance so that your important issue can be adequately addressed by
the Management Committee.
If you would like to lead one of the Society's action
groups, or join the Management Committee, please contact the Secretary.
The Society's office bearers are elected at the annual general meeting
which is normally held in August each year. A
nomination
form can be downloaded from this web site. Also, casual vacancies
occur from time to time.
Partnerships to a Vibrant Community - Strategic
Plan 2006-2011 and Action Plan 2006
In December 2005 the Society published an updated version
of its original strategic plan, Partnerships to a Vibrant Community,
published in June 2003. The new document also contains an action plan
for 2006 which lists activities we plan to undertake in 2006, together
with responsibilities, time frames and criteria by which we can judge
if we have been successful. The plan will be widely distributed to government
and council officials and community groups.
