Meet the Candidates 2007

A report on the Meet the Candidates evening held at Forest Lodge
primary school on 7 March 2007 for the State election

The Glebe Society Inc has traditionally organised a “meet the candidates” evenings to give residents of Glebe and Forest Lodge the opportunity to assess for themselves the policies and personalities of the people seeking to represent them in parliament.

The meeting for the 2007 NSW election (which will be held on 24 March) was held at the Forest Lodge primary school on the evening of 7 March. Four candidates attended. Two others (Edward Okulicz and Jane Hyde), whose nominations were announced only the day before the meeting, could not be invited. Each candidate was allocated 15 minutes to address a number of significant issues relevant to our suburb, and in the second part of the evening candidates answered questions from the floor put to them through the meetings’s chair, Glebe Society president Jan Macindoe.

Short summaries and audio of what the candidates had to say can be accessed by clicking on the links below. Presentations are listed in speaking order which was decided by a draw from a "hat". Click here to go to "What the candidates said".
