On this day in 1803, a notice was published in the Sydney Gazette (p.4) about Blackwattle Swamp – now Wentworth Park:
"ALL Persons are hereby strictly required not to permit their DOGS to run on or about the Blackwattle Swamp, a Stag being at this time at large thereabouts, which by accident escaped a few days ago from the Inclosure of J. HARRIS, Esq. Dogs seen on or about the said Swamp after this Notice will be shot, and the Owners prosecuted in case of damage." ... See MoreSee Less
The part of Bridge Rd that runs beside the waterfront of Blackwattle Bay and Wentworth Park used to to be a causeway and bridge.
