Good news for our local footy club!The Dirty Reds are back! Just when you’d given up hope of watching footy in 2020, the NSWRL has today confirmed that Ron Massey Cup teams Wentworthville, Hills and the Dirty Reds will do battle with the North Sydney Bears, Cessnock Goannas and Maitland Pickers for the 2020 Presidents Cup. Love the Bay Run? Imagine a circular walk/run on our very own foreshores! The Glebe Society is proposing the Blackwattle Bay Circular Walk. Currently it is possible to do a loop from the Glebe foreshores via the Anzac Bridge, but there are too many places where you are forced to deviate along ugly roads – not to mention having to scale the massive Anzac Bridge! Imagine how much better the walk would be if it were foreshore all the way and included the gorgeous heritage-listed Glebe Island Bridge. The bridge should be returned to operation so it can once again be opened and closed, and used as a pedestrian/cycling pathway. Currently the bridge is being demolished by neglect – an absolute scandal! Check out the map - the blue line represents the proposed walk and the red line shows what is currently possible. Like many organisations, Glebe Public School’s out of school hours care program, Centipede, is facing a cash crisis as a result of COVID-19.
