The Land and Environment Court has approved the demolition of the former Remand Centre behind Bidura on Glebe Point Rd. Local views on this matter are polarised. UrbanGrowth NSW Development Corporation is describing Wentworth Park a 'Growth Centre' area. Despite recently changing Wentworth Park from orange ('growth centre') to green with orange stripes ('growth centre area (land)'), we're still worried. (see the pics).
Urban Growth has assured us by email that "there will be no development in Wentworth Park or impact on the existing fig trees. [The orange] section of Wentworth Park is included in the map due to its geographical location, not because it will be developed. It will remain a public park.'
